Awesome post from Dream, plan, go, capturing the experience of a day in New York City
From Central Park to Ground Zero, Natalie Mortimer takes a bite out of the Big Apple and gets to the core of New York City- all in 24 hours.
For me one of the most exciting parts of arriving in a foreign city is the journey from the airport to the hotel. You drive through the often shabby suburban areas and slowly see non-descript buildings transform into thrilling backdrops. The taxi ride that I took from John F Kennedy airport to the centre of Manhattan was just like this, except with an added bonus- the iconic yellow cab of course. To native New Yorkers they’re just as much a part of the landscape as the Statue of Liberty, but for an excited new visitor hopping in one was on my to do list. So my 24 hours in the city that never sleeps started with the hailing of a cab.
